Too much respect
First of all, omg, I helped clean Australia on Clean Up Australia Day! It was a five minute effort, but it’s better than none, right? Here’s what happened:

What a polite language
Recently, I’ve been sending e-mails back and forth with a person from Japan. I haven’t studied Japanese since my high school days, but fortunately I’m a nerd, so my knowledge is still okay. As I’m reading those large blocks of Japanese, I’m reminded of how polite that language is. The sentences are structured in such a polite way that the speaker almost sounds unsure of himself. I’m trying to be a polite person, and unconsciously, I’ve been applying those same rules when speaking and writing to the appropriate people. So, instead of “is that correct?”, it would be, “I wonder if that’s correct?”
Yeah, it’s nothing too interesting. I just wanted to share it anyway. If everyone is more polite, the world would be a better place.

No more need for heroes

Frankly, I believe that I’ve always had the potential to be a hard worker. But when I was young, like any other person, I needed inspiration. Someone to teach me what hard work would yield. Since I’ve loved basketball since I was a kid, I idolized professional players. Mainly, Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

Town of the Nice People
Yesterday, I went to a place named St Leonards. Holy crap, the people in that suburb is nice. It’s like the Town of the Nice People. Some old lady had a friendly chat with one of my friends. Later, a little girl talked with us. What is this? They’re so kind to strangers. My friends and I booked a tennis court to play on for an hour. After our time was up, these two guys took over the court. Even though they paid for the court, they still offered to let us play on it. What’s going on? To finish things off, we were playing basketball afterward. These three kids came to play on the opposite court. As they walked past, they took the initiative to say hi to me. Never in my basketball playing life have I experienced this. Most players have zero social skills, but not the ones in St Leonards. Come on, man, it’s St Leonards. It’s the Town of the Nice People. After I hit a shot, those kids actually praised me. What an amazing place.
I really like St Leonards.

Kamen Rider VS Dai Shocker

At least, Kamen Rider VS Dai Shocker is out. All riders shall unite. My childhood heroes are calling me, so I must be there. Now, let’s have a look.

Escaping from life
I’ve run into some family issues that has been severely affecting my ability to sleep. It’s also been distracting me when I’m trying to brainstorm my novel.

More resolutions?
A friend of mine listed “revamp portfolio” as one of her resolutions this year. That made me remember that I’ve been planning on updating my portfolio as well. My digital portfolio, that is.
But again, it’s the same dilemma as the one I discussed on my previous post. I demand as many hours as possible on writing. It’s not like I have plans to change jobs. Why am I updating my portfolio? I don’t want to do it a few weeks before I shift jobs, though. You know how I am. I hate doing things at the last minute. It makes me feel like a horrible mess. No, maybe I’ll refrain. I’d love to redo my portfolio, but my priorities have already been set, so I must make sacrifices.
I intend to do some sketches related to my new novel. It’s not like they’ll be portfolio worthy, though. They’re just going to be rough.
Yes, I must remain focused.

Day dream or day job?
Before the Christmas break, I borrowed a book from work about developing applications on the iPhone. I confess that I haven’t read a page of it. Instead, I spent all of my spare hours researching and planning my novel. Which one should I spend more time on? It’s an endless dilemma.

To charm or to intimidate
This actually happened many months ago, but anyway, one night after work, I visited a stall to buy two rolls of sushi. The girl who served me was super pretty. At any rate, the transcript went something like:
